How it came about:
When our youngest daughter started
kindergarten, it was time for me to resume my career and enter
the workplace. After much soul searching, it was clear to me,
my primary focus and energy was still aimed at my family. Therefore,
I started The Family Connection as a means of helping families to focus on strengthening their unit. A strong family unit promotes
self-esteem, security, and self-confidence. There is no greater
feeling than that.
My first project was to create
a game that required a family to play together. I did not want
this game to be like most which encourage and rely on a highly
developed sense of competition. The Family Vacation Game promotes
a cooperative family interaction that results in the whole family
unit being the winner. The entire family works together to plan
and achieve their dream vacation. It is a great tool to teach
children budgeting, how spending impacts family funds, positive/negative
choices which affect family unity and how to work together as
a family.
Many thanks go to all the people
who have inspired and led me along the journey to The Family Vacation
Game. I have received advice from various professionals who assisted
in bringing The Family Vacation Game to your homes.
